Signs

  • Pages take several seconds to show anything on a phone
  • The page jumps around while loading
  • Buttons respond slowly
  • Poor results in PageSpeed Insights

Usual causes

  • Large, uncompressed images
  • Too many plugins, apps or tracking scripts
  • Slow or overcrowded hosting
  • No caching
  • Heavy page builders and sliders

What you can check yourself

  1. Run your home page through PageSpeed Insights (pagespeed.web.dev) and note the mobile result.
  2. Check the size of the biggest images on your home page.
  3. List the plugins or apps you have installed and mark any you no longer use.

When to get help

If your pages take more than a few seconds on mobile, or the report shows many problems, a proper speed review usually finds quick wins.
